alone

I am alone once again
Except for a couple friends
I was crushed like fine wine
I was dull but now I shine
I was obsessed for a bit
But now I am over it
You were the best
Test
I ever failed
The best sea
I ever sailed

I was a lion you were a lamb
You were the pool in which I swam
I was a castle you were the sea
The tide came in and now I’m free

I was a comet with 2 feet
Feeling cold and incomplete
You were planet xtc
And captured me with your gravity

You were a slice of humble pie
From another plate another sky
My mistake to even try
To make believe you were mine

You just never were available
And I was unassailable
You claimed it was financial
And I always thought that was bull shhhh

I am alone once again
Except for a couple friends
I was crushed like fine wine
I was dull but now I shine
I was obsessed for a bit
But now I am over it
You were the best
Test
I ever failed
The best sea
I ever sailed

I was a game maybe a rush
A distraction from the tedious
You were a star that fell to earth
I am sorry I misjudged your worth

I never knew what you meant
I never could take a hint
I’m kinda deaf a little blind
A pinball wizard with no spine

You were a wave I was a board
You were swell I was a whore
You found a way to even the score
Some one else to adore

Maybe you’ll text me
Maybe you won’t
Maybe you like me
Maybe you don’t-- oh

I am alone once again
Except for a couple friends
I was crushed like fine wine
I was dull but now I shine
I was obsessed for a bit
But now I am over it
You were the best
Test
I ever failed
The best sea
I ever sailed

If I have learned to walk
A little more sure-footed than before,
Patience with my stumbling then
And know that only as I do my best and try
May I attain any goal
For which we all strive.

If through experience, your soul
has gained heights which I
as yet in dim-lit vision see,
Hold out your hand and point the way,
Lest from its straightness I should stay,
and walk a mile with me.
